Family Readiness
Family Readiness Information for Blount Island Command

Dear Families,

Welcome to Blount Island Command and Marine Corps Support Facility Blount Island! I would like to take this opportunity to introduce myself as the Readiness Coordinator. I am here to serve you and your families by helping to educate and prepare you with the skills and resources to effectively meet the challenges of military life.

Blount Island is a unique command; we strive to make our Marines, Sailors, Civilian Marines and contractors part of our family. The base itself is an industrial base. We do have two naval bases in Jacksonville.  Family housing is available at these bases to those who are interested; they also offer Navy Exchanges and Commissaries. Navy Fleet and Family Service Centers provide us with the same programs that Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) offers. I am happy to be your liaison or you can contact them directly for any needs that you or your family may have.

Our website has some very useful information on it, under the New Personnel section on the main page. Please visit our website and select the New Personnel tab for more useful information about your move. If you have any questions or concerns regarding your move or general questions, you may contact me directly.

The Family Readiness Program includes many resources to assist families with challenges and answer questions that families may have. The Family Readiness Program Team includes the Commanding Officer, the Command Team Advisors, the Family Readiness Advisors and myself. If you are interested in volunteering, we would love to have you be part of the team.
