Christopher Moore, a logistics management specialist at Blount Island Command, guides the backloading of a Navy lowboy trailer aboard the USNS Sgt. William R. Button during transportability testing May 28, 2026, at Marine Corps Support Facility Blount Island, Florida. Service members, civilians and contractors evaluated loading procedures, maneuverability and securement requirements to assess how newly fielded transport systems integrate with maritime positioning force ships before entering forward-positioned sustainment operations worldwide. The testing supports the command’s technical assistance and advisory teams and the Marine Corps’ modernization efforts focused on naval integration, distributed operations and strategic flexibility.
